We Are Yet To Decide On Creation Of State Police -Fayemi


Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State in company of his Plateau, Borno, Kebbi Ondo and Delta States counterparts have in a news briefing after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari,  Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and all the service Chiefs disclosed that the governors are yet to take a position on the creation of State Police.

The meeting which held in Abuja on Friday at the instance of the governors to deliberate on the security challenges in the Country also discussed the issues of insurgency, banditry, Kidnapping and how to comprehensively deal with them.

Governor Fayemi also made it known that the governors divergent opinions and experiences was responsible for the inconclusiveness on the state police creation and that the matter has been slated to be discussed during the forthcoming National Economic Council (NEC) meeting.

He also said the $1Billion removed from the excess crude oil account for security has been taken and expended by the various security agencies in the country.
