Govt Bans Use Of Polythene Bag

In its bid to promote and set the pace for the Clean Nigeria Project, Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has banned the use of polythene bags and other relative products in the state.

Governor Ishaku on Tuesday during the launch of the state Water, Sanitation and Hygiene policy implementation programme said emphasis would now be shifted from the use of non-degradable polythene and plastic materials to the use of biodegradable materials such as paper bags.

The governor while also declaring a State of Emergency on the State’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) gave his assurance that his government will make potable water available to the people of the state added that the ongoing Jalingo primary water project would provide about 28 million litres per day.
